PATRICIA; Reshaping the Future of the Financial World

What can we really do as humans without technological innovations? Today, many technological innovations have been heralded as the future of business. From fax machines to the iPhones, organizations have been relying on more and more technology to operate with greater efficiency and security. While there will always be mixed opinions over which technology is going to have the next big impact, there’s no denying that cryptocurrency and gift cards is generating a serious level of buzz.

However, we’ve seen many technological disruptions succeed only when the time was right. Take AirBnB, Patricia, Paystack, Flutterwave and Uber for example, a Silicon Valley company that has become synonymous with the service it offers where users no longer take a taxi, they order an Uber. Yet, cars and drivers were around long before Uber even existed, so, what was the magic ingredient that has made a service so seemingly simple and easy, worth more than £53 billion today?

Simple! It was the advent of the smartphone revolution and the penetration of high-speed internet on mobile devices. Trends such as these reshaped the digital landscape to an extent that made companies like Paystack, Patricia and Uber possible. The new trend now is gift-cards and cryptocurrencies.

A quick question, how long before these innovations take off and are truly accepted into the mainstream? Some experts like to compare gift card trading and cryptocurrency to the internet in the 90s, saying that it may take a decade or so for these innovations to truly change the way we do things. But as they demonstrate growing signs of maturity and disruption, organizations will need to be prepared to deal with the shifts in tide.

It’s just a matter of time before the known world of traditional banking and financial services makes way for the uncharted territory of newer and more advanced financial technologies. A clear example is Patricia Technologies.

Patricia is known for trading gift cards and cryptocurrencies; in the space of one year, the fast-growing company has been able to create a platform where everyone can trade their cryptocurrency as fast as possible. This is a new innovation from any Nigerian company in that field. This vibrant company is being led by a young man Mr Fejiro Hanu Agbodje from Delta State.

The company has created a seamless system and backed it up by an instant payment option, excellent user experience and customer satisfaction, which in turn has led to an increased customer base for them.

People who are interested to Buy or sell bitcoin in Nigeria now have a perfect option and a trusted platform to do business and we can say that the future of business across borders is being built right here in our backyards.

Twitter User Slams DJ Cuppy For Having Brown Teeth Instead Of White, Tells Her To Go For Surgery

DJ Cuppy has never been strange to jibes and ridicule from internet bullies and progress-fighters, and just yet again she falls victim of another.

The disc-jockey and singer took to her social media pages to post a picture of herself given a weird look which had to expose almost all sets of her 32 teeth.

On seeing the picture, a certain Twitter user then saw it as an opportunity to troll the DJ as he reveals she has a brown teeth. He also questioned why the artiste despite all her wealth and riches hasn’t gone for a teeth whitening procedure which he feels would not cost too much. He then concludes that the DJ must be a stingy person to leave her teeth in that brownish condition.

“Dear DJ Cuppy, I don’t mean to be rude, but teeth whitening procedure can never cost up to 1 million naira . I’m sure it will even cost lesser abroad. You are a multi millionaire and a figure, you need the white teeth and you can afford it and you can afford it. Don’t be stingy please. Thanks. Love you,” he wrote.

What do you think of this user? Does he have a point?

The 323 entertainment boss and former husband of singer, Tiwa savage turned down the advance when the lady commented on one of the post he uploaded on his Instagram page.

MAYORKUN x KIZZ DANIEL – “TRUE” REVIEW

I think Mayorkun is quite underrated when it comes to appreciating the gift of vocals. You see, proper singing should make you tick. It should stop you in your tracks. It should take over your ears, and pause your breathing (for a very select few).

Mayorkun may not be your pick for the best Afro-pop singing sensation of our new-age era (however I do think he is because of a variety of musical factors) but we can at least agree that he is by far the most effective Afro-pop artiste. He has mastered the art of titrating his musical tones on a fine template of sounds. Although he is not exactly doing anything new or excessively ingenious, rather the deliberacy in his efforts to get you fall in love with him and his flawless craft all over again with each new sound released, is all the trick that there is to it.

I also think as a listening audience, we have only just past scratching the surface of the abounding talent that runs deep into the blood stream of the Boy Kiss. Kizz Daniel has the ready-to-blow blueprint every success aspiring and deserving artiste should desperately lay hands on. A lot of our music idols attain stardom and the potency of their musical brilliance wanes. But not Kizz Daniel. For him, it is a reinventing process. He goes back and does it all over again. Hence the emblem of a spotless career relayed in words to be “no bad songs” because true-ly, we’re yet to happen on one.

For Mayorkun to make a substantial comeback – not like he went anywhere really – but after taking quality time-out to promote and tour a highly impressive and hugely successful debut album, this singular feat is worth every show of accolade. I mean the industry has instances of artistes (I won’t call names – Tekno!) who misappropriated the value of substance for hype because they became a little too carried away with the ovation. And this isn’t even Mayor’s loudest yet! However, this timely release is all the reassurance we need from the music Titan, that he is both hype and substance combined, and that he is not here to faff around.

I believe it takes more than the talent of voice and the skill of lyrical writing to be the stars that Mayorkun and Kizz Daniel are today. “True” is such a jam, accelerating to the status of most sought after record, and this is because its musical design comes in the caliber of collaborations like Phyno and Olamide’s Ghost Mode where star-power matched star-power, skill met skill and talent shone talent in all of its individualistic essence. As long as we have Mayorkun and Kizz Daniel playing the role of rugrats in the scheme of things, I say the future of the industry is secure and we’re in for a hell of a music treat!

Music rating – Audacious effort.

June 2019 Yoga Calendar – EMBRACE

This month, I invite you to focus your energy around our monthly community theme, and consider what it means to “embrace”.

Embrace is something most often thought of as an action involving two people. But this month we center inward and look at all the ways in which we can embrace ourselves.

How can you show love and acceptance from yourself to yourself? This can be a hard concept to put into practice, especially in the summer months when so much of the narrative can be about “fixing yourself” or “getting in shape” or serving up that “bikini body ready” attitude.

Our June community theme offers a different perspective. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be strong and fit. (Sign me up!) But, there is a most loving way to do that, which actually can offer you more long lasting self love, acceptance, and FIT body benefits. More on that next month- stay tuned!

Behind the desire to “get fit”, it is important to look at your motivation and take responsibility for the dialogue you are having with yourself. Is it loving, accepting, nurturing, and uplifting? Or is it tearing you down, beating you down, unloving, and unkind?

Push back against the narrative that tells you that you are not “_______enough”.
Embrace you.
The tools of yoga are here to help and guide you…

Yoga With Adriene has your back and is here to remind you, you are beautiful and you are enough.

Read the rest, download your free calendar, and grab the link to your free playlist for the month here.

[Album Review] Runtown’s “Traditon” E.P Is A Perfect & Seamless Cure For Emotional Sickness, An Absolute Redeemer

Image result for runtown's ep tradition

Runtown’s talent cannot be overemphasized as he shows it purely and convincingly in his songs. His ability to mess with different sounds and vibes stands him out among the rest.

Although he could probably not be put side to side with the other Nigerian music superstars leading the Afrobeat sound to the mainstream in terms of achievements, but definitely not in terms of talent. Runtown is an absolute talent.

Runtown would definitely and easily pass as one of the most underrated Nigerian musicians we have around which is really not deserving of the beauty he injects into his songs.

He has proven his talents a ‘million’ times with hits such as “Mad Over You,” “Gallardo,” “Energy,” “For Life” and so much more. And just yet again, he proves his musical brilliance in his latest music project, his “Tradition” E.P.

The E.P is an evidence of musical flair and proof of artistry with all six tracks packed with great sound, majestic delivery and finessed lyrics. Largely because the E.P is one that follows a unilinear pattern as it mostly talks about love and a mystery woman, i would do a quick review of the project below.

Starting with the first track of the E.P, “Redemption,” Runtown desperately seeks for the good side of the lady in the track as he wishes to be saved from the emotional slavery he goes through as he thinks about her everyday and every time of his existence which handicaps other activities of his life. “Redemption” is all about an appeal for one to be loved by whom you probably feel you cannot do without, it is about being saved from the love you feel if you don’t have, might terminate your existence. I understand how he feels in this track, i have been in that kind of situation more than twice before. Great credit should be given to the producer of the track for truly understanding Runtown’s intention and feelings in this masterpiece of a song and providing the perfect combination of instruments to elevate it. This record is just more than brilliant!

Runtown on the second track, “Emotions” seems like he was able to finally get redeemed by the girl in “Redemption” and now reassuring her of his commitment after he’s been suspected of foul play. He assures the girl on this track that he isn’t trying to play with her “emotions” and that she is still in his head like she was in the first track. Runtown although on this track doesn’t seem as emotional as he was on the first track and that might be because he already has the girl. It is understandable though because that is how you most boys feel when you finally get the woman you want. Nice jam too.

‘Soundgod’ becomes a bad and bigger boy on the third track; “Tradition” as he reveals he now needs “more bad bitches.” He also switches up a bit as he focuses on other parts of his life. After finally getting the “redemption” he wanted and getting success at convincing his girl that he isn’t trying to play with her “emotions,” he now looks to focus on money in this track and bring out his bad boy reputation. He shouldn’t be blamed though, as money is essential to maintain a good love life. But what’s up with the bad bitches? Another nice jam.

The fourth track; “Goose Bumps” returns Runtown to his girl as he expresses to her how she continues to make him feel love struck with the way she relates with him. He tells how he she makes him get goose bumps when she mentions his name and how he finds it difficult to move on from her when that happens. This track comes in a dance-hall form and it is good for the E.P as you can actually dance and vibe to it. Another beautiful track.

International Badman Killa” is a track that once again shows Runtown’s awesome ability to make the speaker put bright smiles on one’s face. In this track, he talks about his stardom and how it makes everyone direct total attention to him each time he appears in certain places. He talks how the designer wears he puts on, the exotic cars he drives and his “badman” attitude get him all the girls and intimidate other guys. This is a great jam and one that rivals “Redemption” as my favourite track of the album… brilliant work from the producer and great delivery from Runtown.

The last track, “Unleash” is one that almost everyone is already familiar with as it dropped as a single before the album was introduced. Runtown talks about too many problems he encountered, how he survived them and how it pushed him to love a certain Vannessa who always gave him peace of mind. Unleash is a mid-tempo jam produced by Del B and it is definitely one of the greatest tracks of the E.P.

Summarizing the E.P, i would say it’s a fantastic project that should put to bed any doubts about the awe in Runtown’s Talent. The project is full of thrills, amusement, radiance, grandeur and gloriousness. Runtown is a love doctor and i just got healed from walking through his redemptive clinic which gave the perfect and seamless cure to my emotional sickness. Bravo!!!

Ratings: 9.5/10

Jaywon Heavily Disgraced On Instagram After He ‘Compared Himself With Davido’

If there is the need to identify any Nigerian male artiste who constantly falls victim of ridicule in the hands of online trolls, then it has to be Jaywon.

The former Kennis Music artiste is no stranger to internet mockery and bullying.

The recent one that has come the way of the “Aje” singer is the fact that he was painfully mocked by an Instagram user who came across a picture of the singer, flaunting meagre notes of US dollars.

The user who seemed pain by Jaywon’s actions advised the singer to keep the small amount of dollars he is showing off with and instead learn from Davido who shows the ‘real deal.’

He advised Jaywon to keep a low life or upgrade himself to the level of the OBO if truly he wants to impress.

The user wrote, “See your scanty dols, go check wetin Davido hold to buy diamond for Atlanta store. Keep it low, so low.”

However, in a peaceful manner, the singer replied the troll by praying for himself, writing that he hopes he gets to the level of Davido.

He wrote; “May God help us all. We go reach there.”

50 Cent Threatens Nigerian “Power” Actor; Rotimi, Says He Will Break His Nose If He Doesn’t Pay His Debt

American rapper, actor and business man, 50 Cent has again taken up what he knows how to do best, and that is to bully people.

The rapper who has a history of engaging people in spats and defeating them at the end has this time around picked fellow “Power” actor and R&B singer, Rotimi as his victim.

Rotimi who is currently promoting his recently released album, “Walk With Me”  took to his Instagram page to post a video in which he was seen doing some publicity for the project.

On seeing the video, 50 took to his own Instagram page to repost it and as well demanded the money he alleged that Rotimi owes him.

50 Cent assumed that since the Nigerian-American actor has the “number one” R&B album in the country, he must have made a ton of money and it shouldn’t be a difficulty for him to pay his debts.

He however revealed he has given him till Monday to make the payment with a promise to assault him if he does not

50 said, “Man fuck all that I want my money by Monday.”

A furious 50 Cent later added, “I want to punch this n***a nose.”

We hope this is some sort of joke anyway.

The track would be Mayorkun’s first official single of the year and first official post TMOL release. From what we have gathered, the Vado aided afro-pop number will be released on the 31st of May 2019 and the music video has already been shot.

[Album Review] Patoranking Leaves No Room For Criticism On The “Wilmer” Album, An Almost Perfect Music Project

Patoranking’s rise in Nigerian music has never been anything around fluke, his rise has been subject to his vast knowledge of music and his extraordinary talent. The singer having achieved his break in the music industry in 2013 with his then hit single, “Alubarika” featuring Timaya has moved on to be even a more superb artiste than he used to be.

He is well accepted not only in the Nigerian Sphere of music but also Africa in general, many thanks to his versatility and music ability. The singer who sings mostly in Jamaican Patois can also switch to singing as a proper Afrobeat artiste and be overly comfortable.

His debut album was “God Over Everything” which he released in 2016. However the journey since 2016 has been really smooth and exciting for the singer who can lay claims to being one of the current biggest superstars in Africa. That journey from 2016 has now led him to release his sophomore album; “Wilmer” which dropped last week, and that’s exactly what this article is all about as i will be reviewing the album which consists of 12 tracks and 6 features.

Starting with the number one track, “Wilmer” featuring Georgian singer, Bera is a soulful song that talks about a woman Patoranking his professing his love to. He is showering accolades on the lady as well as expressing the fact that she makes him feel great at all times. The song is accompanied with great instrumentation, the beat is simple and the sound elements aid perfectly the intention of the song. Bera’s part is top-notch too, it’s a great collaboration.

The number 2 track is titled “Feelings,” one of my favourite songs on the “Wilmer” Album. The song comes in an almost reggae like form, talking about how Patoranking feels happy and excited when the mystery woman he expresses himself about on the track comes close to where he is. The instrumental of the song is glorious and Pato’s vocals did justice to the song.

Patoranking on the number 3 track, “Temperature” thrives comes through with his greatest strength, dance-hall. Like he is famously known to do, he delivers aptly on the song and makes sure it is one for the party and clubs. A potential hit!

Patoranking seems to be all about love in the album as he invites Kenyan act, Nyanshinki to complement his artistry on this low-tempo jam, “Nakupenda” which sits on the number 4 position of the project. There isn’t much about this particular track. Although i do not feel it’s a really good song, but i do not have any serious criticism for it.

Definitely my favourite of the album and the reason why it is is straight-forward, plain and simple. Patoranking on this track preaches the reality that continues to destroy the African existence. The number 5 track of the album is not a song, it is more of an ode that reveals why Africa continues to wallow in backwardness. It expresses the hatred, contempt, envy and evil intentions that the black people have towards each other. “Black sold black, black kill black, black relegate black, black deceive black, black division, black hate black…” These statements might seem unbelievable, but they are the exact truth and the reasons Africa continues to never grow and develop. This track identifies these problems and gives the simple solution to all of these huge problems. It recommends LOVE as the only solution. This track preaches love. What an awesome sermon, perfect number 5.

Moving on to the number 6 track of the album, “Zero Probleme,” i would say i do not find it exciting which would aid my excuse for not wanting to review it. Or should i just state why i do not like it? Okay then, i would. I do not like it because it has no amusement, Patoranking did well but Dadju who is a French singer, flopped. The thing about this song is, it should have been blessed with a chorus/hook that is melodious and one can easily vibe to, but it doesn’t. It has a nice beat though, a beat like Patoranking’s “no Kissing” featuring Sarkodie, but the difference in the two songs wouldn’t be hard to spot.

The number 7 track, “Lenge Lenge” is a song that almost everyone knows now as it was released as a single. The song brings a reminiscence of the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti as Patoranking adopts the call & response pattern to the song. He also adopts the simple and addictive story-telling pattern of the late baba  70. Pato sings about a woman he met who reminded him of one of his favourite ladies whom he calls, Shalewa due to her sexy body assets. “Lenge Lenge” is a fun track and one that would definitely put you in a mood you’d wish you are cooling off with a bottle of cold beer at a joint.

Moving on to the number 8 track, “Turn Up” Patoranking and English singer/rapper Donae’o did well to to put together a party jam that could cause people to vibe gallantly on the dance floor. Like the title; “Turn Up,” the song talks all about partying and the cause for celebration. How well to be a party rider and enjoy the glamour and thrills of a party.

“Champion” is the number 9 track and teaches everyone to be wary of betrayal. It teaches not to trust anyone as the people who are trusted the most turn out to become one’s greatest enemy. It also admonishes everyone not to hate people that are getting success as success itself never go to people who are hating. With funk-like beat, Patoranking has been able to score a pretty decent song and one that is a eye opener. Nice beats to accompany you all through to the end of the song.

It is understandable why Patoranking has left “Go Crazy” to be the number 10 track. Like the title of the song, the beat would make you “go crazy” except you are just not totally in the mood to give-in to the demand of the song, but anything aside that, you might eventually lose your home training. The song is a dance track with a really fast beat and an electrifying sound element. It would bring you back to life if you experienced any dull moment while listening to the album, i guess that it’s aim.

“Open Fire” featuring South-African act, Busiswa being the penultimate track is really a good move for me and the reason is because i find it boring. If i had heard it earlier in the beginning, i might not have listened to it. It doesn’t make sense to me.

The final track is “Confirm” featuring Davido and this is another personal favourite after “Black.” The beat is really cool and the voices well laced. The song has great melody, sounds groovy and the lyrics in relation to the ambition of the song, make sense. It’s a good way to end the beautiful “Wilmer” album.

In summary, this album is another way Patoranking has proven his versatility and effortlessness at making really good music. He didn’t leave a chance for any serious criticism on the album and definitely this is a great improvement to his debut album; “God Over Everything (GOE).”

I am rating the album; 8.5/10.
