Why I need to upgrade my sound of music BNXN

Daniel Benson, popularly known Bnxn (previously known as Buju), a popular musician, has stated that he needed to give people time to listen to and enjoy his music.

The ‘Pray’ singer addressed Saturday Beats about the difficulties he experienced in his early career,

“At first, the challenge was getting people to listen to me. When something is different from the norm, it might take a little time for people to adjust to it. However, there are some people who enjoy and appreciate it before everyone else come on board.”

Bnxn also stated that it was hard for him to identify any of his international performances as his best.

He said, “There have been a lot (of memorable moments) from performing with Wizkid at the O2 events centre in London, to being on the bill at massive festivals in places like Brussels (Germany), Portugal and Paris (France). There have been many memorable events, and I look forward to creating more amazing memories.”

The singer, who was recently signed as an ambassador for a telecoms company, 9Mobile, stated that he would add value to the brand.

He said, “I intend to upgrade the level of sound and music used to communicate with customers, and since there is a need for the attraction of teeming youths, there needs to be an adjustment in the type of music used to communicate important information to them.”

On the similarities between his brand and the telco, he said,

“They include carving a niche for one’s self and standing out with confidence. That is all I am about, and I feel the company shares that vision.”

Tope Alabi believes shes above God Funmi Aragbaye Condems Use of Aboru Aboye

Funmi Aragbaye, a veteran gospel artist and current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria, has criticised popular gospel singer Tope Alabi in a recently released song for her contentious use of ‘aboru aboye,’ a term often associated with Ifa worshippers.

While reacting to the recent viral video of fellow gospel musician, Tope Alabi, in which she sang using Yoruba terms connected with greetings by Ifa worshippers, Aragbaye stated the latter is acting as if she is above God.

Following the viral video of Alabi performing a song in a church using phrases connected with Ifa worshippers, she got a lot of attention.

In an exclusive phone interview with journalist, Aragbaye said that Alabi feels she is superior to everyone, including God.

She said,

”Tope Alabi believes she is above everyone and God. She is not a member of GOMAN, nor is she a member of any other gospel association. She believes she is too much for it. She doesn’t belong to anyone; she is neither here nor there.

The current state of the country is why many act the way they do. People take God for granted for being so merciful. Many people today are just worshipping God with their mouths; it doesn’t come from their hearts.

“If you speak with Pastor Bola Are, she will tell you the same thing. Most people preaching do not know what they are preaching about. They emerged from nowhere onto the scene.”

Aragbaye, whose 1990’s Mo Gbo Ipe Olorun (Divine Call) was an instant hit, blamed the media for Alabi’s success, saying despite ”fumbling for many years, the media continues to promote her.”

Efforts by reporter to get Alabi’s reaction to Aragbaye’s claims proved futile as the popular gospel act ignored messages sent and had the reporter blocked on Whatsapp.

Rick Ross: Empower your circle & be free from problems (WATCH)

American rapper and business mogul, Rick Ross has said one of the main keys to staying rich is to empower their circle and family.

The Hip Hop star said if someone is rich and everybody around them is poor then it will only generate problems for that person.

The Maybach Music founder made the assertion during an interview on Hot 107.9 FM, noting that if a wealthy person makes investments that empower those in their circle, then they will not need to ask for financial favours or assistance.

Rick Ross explained that the individual would have to inform his circle of the plan to empower them and make them understand that if they are not willing to work and make their own money then they should not ask for anything.

According to the music executive, because he implemented that principle in his nuclear family, his mother and sister have not asked him for anything in years.

Ross said; “Staying rich – one of the biggest keys to that is empowering your circle, empowering your family, because you being rich and everybody else being broke next to you, it’s only going to be so long before you’re jammed up.”

He added; “Just like my mum, my sister, they ain’t ask me for nothing in years”

Burna Boy Risked Paying 150k Fine for Delaying His Performance at London Stadium

Nigerian Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu also known as Burna Boy came out late during his recent concert in London and apparently it was because he insisted that the backdrop for the stadium must work properly.

This is according to the Head of Security at the London stadium, who revealed that Burna could have been made to pay £150,000 fine if the delay lasted for 30 minutes.

A Nigerian man identified as Nnamdi, who was taking a course on International Sports Law, shared a video of the chief security officer explaining what happened.

He said Burna Boy was standing on the stage getting ready to start his performance but one of his team members who was controlling the stadium lights with his laptop struggled to put it on.

The Head of Security said the person did not have a backup laptop, and it posed a huge challenge because there is a curfew at the London stadium, and if the show extended to that time, Burna would have to stop his show and get his promoter to pay 150,000 pounds for every 30 minutes time that they take up past the deadline.

Nnamdi praised the ‘Last Last’ crooner for insisting on perfection instead of perfoming with the below par setup on stage.

He tweeted; “Burna such a perfectionist. Having a lecture at the London stadium and the head of security explaining how Burna refused to go on stage on time because the stadium back drops were not working properly risking £150,000 fine for each extra 30.”

Ill marry a second wife if my wife permits Harrysong

Popular singer Harrison Okori, aka Harrysong, has reiterated his readiness to marry a second wife.

Recall that the singer, while celebrating his wife Alexer Perez Gopa’s birthday via his Instagram page last Wednesday, revealed his plans to take a second spouse.

Shedding more light on the controversial announcement in a recent interview with Hip TV, Harrysong explained that his wife would have to agree before he could marry a second wife.

He said he loves and respects his wife and won’t do anything without seeking her permission.

The ‘Better Pikin’ crooner said his desire to marry a second spouse was due to his love for a large family.

He said:

“I love my wife so much. I take very good care of her. And I have great respect for her.

“I will not do anything that she is not a part of or she would not permit. So, if I talk about marrying a second wife, yeah, maybe. But it would not be a disrespect to my wife. It will be what she permits, what she agrees to. Basically, I will not disrespect her. So, if I’m talking about marrying a second wife, just know that we are all going to be one big family, all together.”
