R.Kelly has now been reportedly dropped by recording music giant, Sony music.
Since the docu-series “Surviving R.Kelly” surfaced online which revealed the sexual attrocities the talented singer committed in the past with underage girls, there has been cries from every corner of the US music industry and even outside of it that R.Kelly’s music should be taken down from all streaming platforms.
Many are even of the opinion that those that have had a music relationship with the singer in the past should denounce their affiliation with him. Many of the artistes definitely did according to the wishes of these people as the likes of Lady Gaga, Celine Dion and many others all expressed their regrets at working with Kelly in the past and promised never to have anything to do with him anymore.
It was even during this period that the #muteR.Kelly campaign came up which was intent on clearing the legacy and musical existence of the superstar.
It seems Sony Music have now found all these controversies a possible setback for the label and also a damaging image for their signed artistes; R.Kelly and others, so they have then decided to terminate his contract and send him packing from the Label. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation from the label, but there are heavy reports it is an accurate story.
If truly this has happened, does it signify an end to R.Kelly’s career?
