Sensational singer, Naira Marley has finally been arraigned before an Abuja mobile court.
It would be recalled that a few hours ago, he was arrested and arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for flouting travel bans during the lockdown. The Lagos state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana told Punch that Marley presented himself at the command headquarters. “We are in court as we speak. He will be arraigned for violating the interstate travel order. That is the aspect that concerns Lagos State,” Elkana said.
However, new reports state that the singer was whisked away from Lagos to Abuja where he was arraigned before an Abuja mobile court on Friday, August 7, 2020, for violating COVID-19 protocols. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) filed a four-count charge against him for hosting a concert in Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, in clear violation of COVID-19 directives on June 13.
After the charges were read to him, Naira Marley pleaded guilty and, the presiding magistrate Idayat Akanni handed down a fine of N200, 000 on him.
