D’banj has open up on how he discovered the currently trending Shaku shaku vibe on his CREAM Platform just as it went mainstream. He made this known during the draws for winners on the platform.
‘We were in the club one night and I heard this song, Oshozondi. I thought it was hilarious but I didn’t pay attention. Few weeks later I was listening to songs uploaded on the backend and then I heard that song again,’he said.
He said, ‘so I called my tech guys and I was like, Does that mean that songs that have blown are also being uploaded on CREAM?’
It turned out that the artiste, Slimcase, was already a rave in the ‘streets’ before seeking to push the rave to the mainstream.

Part of what really amazes me about this journey and this practice is the generous amount of bravery and guts it takes to show up and really look inside and see who is there.
This is yoga.
As I am sure you have experienced by now, the practice doesn’t always align with your mood, your energy state, or your schedule.
However, you are always presented with this amazing opportunity to take advantage and really look in and see what is going on today – or to simply sit out on the sidelines and “just get through it.”
One way brings you closer and more in touch with your self.
This challenging practice asks you drop the poses (but trust me there are still poses, don’t fret) to lean into this idea of just getting to know yourself.
Your true self.
Just by simply showing up you have an opportunity to get closer to just that.
Today’s practice is balanced and loving.
Be brave, look inside.
But wait!
Also, remember and consider the fact that everything is constantly changing.
You can feel something in one moment and then the next moment feel completely different.
We are walking contradictions!
Blanket yourself in love and appreciation for being brave enough to show up here and listen.
This is a practice to bookmark and return to.

The singer made a post on Snapchat with the caption “My bitch!” and he seems to be referring to Khloe. The fashion entrepreneur had earlier been received the support of Tubaba’s wife, Annie Idibia, while video director, Unlimited LA, referred to her as his girlfriend who he plans to wed once the show is concluded.

Singer, Yemi Alade has condemned her female industry colleagues for not being supportive of each other in the music business, report claims. According to reports on the Instagram page of Goldmyne TV, Yemi Alade ranted about the subject on Snapchat and she encouraged female artistes to emulate male counterparts.
“Ladies can we just get together, respect each other and not put ourselves against each other,” the singer stated.
She added, “Because we put ourselves against each other, the whole world always put us against each other. I know about female artistes who when you want to feature them on an album, they have to be the only female artiste on that album. If they are not the only one on the album they won’t feature, that is why we are so few. It’s so petty, we are the cause of our downfall. Go and see the guys and see how they are doing well and killing it, it’s by cooperation and division of labour, we can’t do it alone.”

It has been reported that DJ Kaywise JOOR concert 3, which held on Saturday January 27th, 2018, was marred by the breakout of violence at the event venue and it hindered the performances of artistes like Olamide, Tiwa Savage and Lil Kesh. According to the report, Tiwa Savage was set to perform when violence broke out at the venue of the event, as the atmosphere at the venue was polluted with tear gas and sounds of gun shots. This caused Tiwa Savage to retreat and exit the event venue. The eye-witness also said he heard the voice of DJ Kaywise begging DJ Big N to persuade Tiwa to stay and perform, as he assured the Mavin Records DJ that order would be restored.
Further reports are that Olamide and Lil Kesh arrived at the venue just about the time when the violence had reached its peak and they had to turn back with their retinue, without performing. The event lost its much anticipated thrill due to the chaotic scenes that left several fans injured including the eye-witness. The Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has slammed a Not-To-Be-Broadcast (NTTB) warning on Olamide‘s latest single “Science Student.” Nigerian Tribune reports that the warning was served to all radio and television stations over the week.
The Head of Public Affairs of the NBC, Hajia Maimuna Jihada told Tribune that the song was not out-rightly banned but prohibited from being played on local stations for public consumption. She said:
‘NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s Science Student has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast’.
She further went on to mention that the song’s subtle promotion of illegal drugs was the main reason for declaring it unlawful as she issued a stern warning to all broadcasting houses;
‘We have communicated all our licensees for compliance or they will face sanctions’

Singer, Adekunle Gold revealed that he avoids sleeping with ladies without using a condom because he does not want to have a baby mama. The Sade crooner while speaking with PUNCH, disclosed that unlike most of his colleagues in the music industry, having a baby out of wedlock will be a disgrace to his family.
He said,
“I don’t want that (baby mama) for myself because It will be a disgrace to my family if I have a child born out of wedlock. I can only speak for myself. I was not brought up that way.
Why should such mistakes happen? There is a way you can protect yourself. I cannot have sex with a lady without using a condom. For me, it is just wise to do the right thing. I don’t want to find myself in any drama.”
He also revealed that inasmuch as he likes fun, he is a decent person, which has helped him stay out of scandals and added that he was always getting nudes pictures from ladies.
He said,
“I get nude pictures from ladies well and it is fun, I must confess. There was a time in my life that I tried to get attention from ladies, but it was hard. It is a different story now and I am enjoying every bit of it.
My girlfriend understands the nature of my job but sometimes, she asks questions. I like to keep my relationship away from the public.
What if my girlfriend doesn’t want to be in the limelight? I think people like me because of my music, not because of what I do in my private moments.
I’m not under pressure to get married. I have an agreement with my parents. We agreed that I should focus on my music career first before venturing into marriage”

Nobody wants to miss out on the goodies that this fast moving train called the ‘shaku shaku’ trend is giving out early in the 2018 year. With the damage Olamide’s Science Student is doing all over town, many thanks to the tripartite team of Mr Real, Idowest and Slimcase for pioneering this viral movement, even a D’Banj has attempted to offer his 2 cents with the jam titled “Issa Banger“.
So we discuss the potential of it being a hit or an absolute miss on this #TXReview.

@jimancipation I’m particularly tripped by the fact that D’Banj never relents on his efforts in attempting to dominate the industry space like he once did before. For years now, he’s been working hard and tirelessly to fashion out an epic comeback that hits like rock. From latching on the buzzing stars of different times – Davido, Olamide and Oritsefemi, to trying out new producers he thought could recreate the magic he had with Don Jazzy, and attempting the trap sound like we heard it on El-Chapo; this collaboration with Slimcase and Mr Real is torn from the same playbook of tricks, only this time it is the Shaku Shaku trend.
Very strategic I must confess, and because his materials are now taken with a somewhat feeling of levity, it aptly suited to have the leaders of the Shaku Shaku wave best this song. Moreso, because what better time than now to actually find good reason to listen to the man D’Banj. Even though the flavour of the song is not in D’Banj who honestly had a typically decent performance on the track, but rather with Slimcase and Mr Real, who did the most effort in sustaining the vibe, and are the real reason why we came and stayed on this song; Issa Banger seems pretty much like a big a$$ contender for what might wrestle the Shaku Shaku shine that is being usurped by Olamide’s Science Student. Already it has found plenty succour on the streets, and my hopes are that it continues to resonate deeply with the lovers of street pop music.

@ibironketweets The persistence shown by D’Banj in his comeback mission, deserves commendation. He has made countless attempts but only one or two got any serious buzz. His struggle has turned him into some sort of culture vulture who jumps on trends with the hope of scoring a hit.
That’s exactly the idea behind Issa Banger. D’Banj invited vanguards of the trending shaku shaku vibe to establish a mutual relationship which allows D’Banj tap into their rave while the duo of Slimcase & Mr Real get that dream collabo with their role model, the ‘big fish’. The result – so typical. The song has the normal loud chanting and roll out of slangs that creates the noisy atmosphere synonymous with shaku shaku materials.
Interestingly, it’s an atmosphere that allows the old D’Banj, the D’Banj of Mo’hits to resurrect and create a some kind of spark. Mr Real & Slimcase evoked the spirit of the old, long gone D’Banj and he heeded their call this song. Issa Banger is not gonna make my playlist, certainly, but it seems to have all the elements of a good street pop material. It sounds like something the street would like.

Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Burna Boy releases his new project Outside via Bad Habit. The 13-track project is preceded by singles “Sekkle Down” ft. J Hus, “Koni Baje,” and “Heaven’s Gate” ft. Lily Allen which are accompanied with a music video.
Burna Boy who recently had a private listening party in Lagos on Sunday 21st January 2018 at the WeRe House Lekki, Lagos and during the week at The Curtain Hotel, London shared the “Outside” experience with some his fans and celebrity guests with songs off the album.
In May 2017, Burna Boy headlined his first US show at the PlayStation Theatre, and in November 2017, he sold out a 5,000 seat show at the Apollo Eventim Theatre in London. He was recently featured on Drake‘s project More Life on the track titled “Get It Together” ft. Jorja Smith which has been featured on multiple episodes of OVO Sound Radio.
Burna Boy is the only featured artist on Fall Out Boy‘s currently released album Mania, Rita Ora‘s “Your Song” remix, and J Hus‘ “Good Time.”

During a chat with MTV Base, Davido spoke on his music career and the heights he has reached as an artiste. The 30 Billion Gang leader is a one of the biggest artistes on the continent today but he recalls that it did not start easy for him. He said that his father was not happy with his career path till he had to prove his worth.
However, he claimed that now, he had reached a level where he could converse with at least 13 presidents.
“When I released the song ‘Back when’, I did not know that it was going to be that big. Then I went back to school and the love that I was shown was overwhelming, let alone the way girls began to treat me. That one song with the video made my father realise that I had the talent. And then, I did the song, ‘Dami Duro’.
“The song became so big and I remember that the President at the time called my father to talk about me and the song. Even during my father’s business meetings with his friends, they would mention my name and the song. Before long, I started travelling and doing shows around the world. Now I have the numbers of about 13 presidents on my phone and if I call them, they would answer the call. Then the award came and it set me on another level.”

The singer stated via a tweet that all those doubting the validity of the video released by the actress, are “full of sh*t.” She was particular about the women criticizing the actress who made the claim against the Taxify driver.
