CULTIVATE: August 2021 Calendar

Yoga With Adriene - August 2021 Calendar

August is here.

Your mission: Cultivate attention and intention.

The action: Guide it toward what matters most.

This calendar theme and contemplation is a powerful one that puts you back in the driver’s seat while also reminding you how and when to soften and surrender.

August = creation and invention.

Cultivate a beautiful mind.

Are there areas of your inner world that need reinvention?

Build a strong body.

Where do you want to cultivate more flexibility, power, and ease?

Your thoughts are powerful, and so is your vehicle. With this month’s curation of practices we take time to cultivate a discipline around caring for the mind and body.

(Note: you may watch it ripple out into all of your endeavors and relationships!)

Through regular practice discover and embody the strength you possess

To make big waves,

Turn big corners,

And go after that thing you have always dreamt of.

This month of practice is about choosing what you want to cultivate and amplify - and more so, it's about recognizing your power to do just that.

Finally,

Get curious. Like really curious. When we are curious we open our hearts and our minds to new ways of seeing things, new ways of thinking, new states of being.

Cultivate new horizons with curiosity.
See you on the mat, darlings.

Love,

Adriene

June 2021 Yoga Calendar - EXPAND

Scroll down for your FREE calendar and playlist of the month.

June is here.

Our theme: Expansion

The action: Expand your vision.

Be aware of the power of your imagination. Create horizons as you focus on transition moments. Open your mind. Stretch your body. Create a vocabulary to have difficult conversations… and stay in them.

May we consider other perspectives. May we allow time for pause.

May we continue to learn new things, expanding our wealth of knowledge, as well as our friend groups.

May we continue to connect and expand across the globe through practice.

This international community inspires me daily. Through regular practice together across the globe, I feel I have been invited to expand my worldview, tenfold.

Yoga isn’t about achieving fancy poses or gaining a lift in your booty. It is a discipline that invites us to know and understand ourselves and each other.

If you are reading this invitation to practice, perhaps it is for a reason.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat this month!

Love,

Adriene

Support India

Excerpt from today’s love letter:

For me it all boils down to a single fundamental truth that your well-being is my well-being.

Your well-being and your neighbor’s well-being are one and the same.

There is also the element of energy. One can have good intentions, visions of healing others, a solid desire to serve. But in order to turn good intention into acts of service, to action, you have to have energy in the tank.

Finally, self-care to me is the practice of knowing and understanding yourself. It is not cucumbers on the eyes and a mud mask. Though, those things are lovely. To lead with confidence, stand up for others, use your voice - you have to have self awareness. And the depth of your self awareness depicts the depth of your connection to others.

The quality of your self-awareness depicts the quality of your connection with others.

As I write this there are many people in our community hurting, suffering, and managing their way through stressful situations.

We are a global family. Our practice unites us. Our breath binds us.

I will close your love letter today by reminding you that with this letter comes my commitment to you and your wellbeing, and subsequently mine too.

I will also close with a humble request that you donate to help the members of our community in India right now who have been hit with another excruciating and devastating wave of Covid19.

With reverence and respect for the roots of yoga and its origins, I urge us all to lean in and give what we can. You may not know that a beautiful portion of YWA community resides in India, practicing with over 10 million views in 2020. Behind those views are individuals of the global family we are a part of, and their families. They are part of this intentional community that has been brought together by our shared practice. They need us right now. And their communities beyond the mat do too. Very much so.

If you can contribute, I encourage you to share any amount today. It will help save lives.

You might do your research to find other organizations to donate to but here is a direct link to contribute to Give India and read more about their incredible missions: https://covid.giveindia.org/

You might also choose to dedicate your first practice of this week to those who have been shaken by this trauma.

Your well-being is your neighbor’s well-being.

Let’s take a breath now.

Inhale love in.

Exhale love out.

Welcome May.

Yours truly,

Adriene

May 2021 Yoga Calendar - TRUST

Scroll down for your free calendar and playlist for the month.

This month we are focusing on Trust as a practice.

Have you ever done a trust fall? You know, where you stand with your feet on the ground, back to the unknown, take a breath, relax your shoulders, make your body feel whole, like one moving part, then lean back and go?

Consider this collection of practices an opportunity to lean in, get centered, build strength, and find support from the inside out.

In this wild time of looking back and looking ahead, we may use these daily practices to root in the present.

A lot has been potentially stirred up in the last month or so, in the spirit of renewal, reconnecting, and reemergence. Together, let’s use the month of May to center so that we can surrender to the sublime, and embody trust in the present.

Please note: There will be core.

When you are familiar with your center it’s easier to embody trust. When you feel centered you can take steps without being too concerned where they will lead. This collection of practices will help you anchor as you may continue to wake up and ask, “What’s next?” Keep an eye out for a brand new 12 min core condition session, uploading on May 3rd!

Trust that it is working.

This is a process based practice. So the more regularly you show up, the more likely you are to feel the impact. You will see and feel results, but this curation asks you to show up, do your best, and bring whatever it is you are holding each day.

Trust the process of yoga to deliver what you want to cultivate in your life.

In a culture that reinforces our need for immediate results, regular at home practice simply focuses on the incredible power of showing up. Trust that the rest will work it out from there.

Summary: Just show up.

And let’s get real, your time is valuable. For me trusting the yoga means being open to getting out of your head and into your body.  It means committing not to the yoga poses but to spending this time with yourself. Breathing, listening and trusting your instincts.

Right from the start… make the most of your commitment to this monthly calendar and trust yourself.

This will pave the path to truth.

You cannot love if you cannot trust.

And it all starts with you.

Trust what is true.

Love,

Adriene
