Following the release of his compilation album over the weekend, veteran Nigerian Disc Jockey (DJ) Jimmy Amu, popularly called Jimmy Jatt’s album entitled The Industry: Vol1, has topped the iTunes Nigeria music chart.

The album has climbed to the No1 spot on the charts thereby displacing 2face Idibia’s ‘The Ascension’ which had been topping the charts since its release. ‘The Industry’ which fields 26 tracks, features over 50 artistes on projects including heavyweights D’banj, 2face Idibia, Banky W and, M.I, Ice Prince. Others include Vector, Olamide, Waje, Skales, Zaina, Phyno and more. Meanwhile TV personality/model Uti Nwachukwu has expressed his opinion that Jatt deserves a national award.

IBILE rapper Remilekun Safaru popularly known as Reminisce has joined the likes of BankyW, Kate Henshaw and Ali Nuhu as a Samsung brand ambassador. Announced on Tuesday 19th of August, this is coming few weeks after US based Time Magazine recognized him as a world rappers to meet. The rapper broke the news to us via his Instagram account where he posted a picture of the unveiling with the caption….“New Family!! #SamsungAmbassador! #ALAGAIBILE”. Way to go man!

Reports have it that 2face Idibia is taking his latest album on a club tour. The 960 Music Group and Hypertek Digital boss said that the club tour is a way to pay homage to the huge success of his sixth studio album, titled The Ascension. Starting on Thursday at Club Rumors in Festac, Lagos, 2face Idibia would be joined on the tour by label mates Dammy Krane, Rock Steady and Kennis Music Act, Jo-El who would be launching his new song “Hold On” ft. 2face.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem who appeared recently on Channels TV’s Sunrise, has said that his new album, G2G, is in support of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration which he believes has done well. According to him, the President has done a lot of good work from the construction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway to airport and agriculture. He also believes the insecurity issue the country is facing is all propaganda.

We are in for another Tiwa Savage collaboration it seems! The Wanted crooner has revealed on her Instagram page that she’s done a collaboration with Solidstar who apparently gives her “goosebumps”.

Remember their “Always on Time” hit track? American superstars Ja Rule ans Ashanti have been reportedly billed to perform in Nigeria in a couple of weeks. The rapper and singer will be performing at the Warri Again: The Flagship Show set to hold on October 1 in Warri, Delta state.

Asides these two, other acts billed to perform include Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Davido, Yemi Alade, Flavour, Oritse Femi, Patoranking, Wizkid, Iyanya, Dr. Sid, Harry Song, Daddy Showkey and a host of comedians.

Michael Idibia, father to afro R&B legend 2face Idibia has passed on. His dad had been reportedly ill of the cancer disease a while now and finally lost the life battle to cold fate. His manager Efe Omoregie, confirmed the news Saturday evening adding that 2face who had been in Abuja all week is still grief stricken by the news.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to music superstar and his family. We pray God Almighty grants them the fortitude to bear the loss in such a time as this.
