Video: “I can’t collect N5Million for Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert” – Portable

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable, has revealed that he declined an invitation to perform at President-elect, Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert.

No fewer than 46 musicians were booked for the concert which held on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Portable said he was among those invited but he turned it down because the organisers wanted to rip him off.

He claimed that they informed him that the budget for artistes was N10million per head, but the Inauguration management team said he will only get N5million.

The Zazuu star said it infuriated him, so he rejected the offer, tore the invitation card, and blocked the number of the person that contacted his management.

Some of the artistes that performed include; Naira Marley, Waje, Brymo, Asake, Fireboy, Kaycee, Asake, Timaya, BNXN, Pasuma, Tony Tetuila, and Seyi Vibes.

Speaking on the incident, he condemned the musicians who accepted to show up and thrill guests at the event which held at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Portable asked if any of the music stars that accepted the money love Tinubu. He further queried them to know if they supported or promoted the president-elect at any time before, during or after election.

He said; “Na so dem call my manager say make I come perform for Abuja, say na N10 million dey drop oh, but na N5 million go reach portable hand. Na so I no gree, I tear the paper, I delete their number. No be me be star? Na im make me no perform for Abuja oh!”

The event, titled ‘RenewedHopeConcert’ was organised by the youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to celebrate the contribution of young people during the general elections.
