Good morning, Durk
I hope you’re doing as well as possible under the circumstances
Can you tell me where was your mind when you heard the news of your friend Von passing away
on November 6th, 2020?
And then the loss of your brother on June 6th, 2021
Wow, that must’ve been incredibly devastating
I can only imagine how painful that must’ve been
It’s been a year and I wanna know,
how you feel about the rap beef on top of all the chaos?
Despite all this, you continue to be a warrior,
A leader in the rap industry and the voice in your community
And I want you to feel completely safe in this room,
Nobody can hurt you
It’s okay to express your vulnerabilities and emotions
This is a judgement-free zone and I encourage to let your emotions out
and express yourself freely
Take a deep breath and focus on the present moment
Today is May 26th
Remember that you don’t have to go through this alone
I’m here to listen, you have the voice in this room
I wanna hear from Durk Banks

People might interpret your views and career focus wrongly. Audiences may even act like you don’t exist, but Kizz Daniel’s songs are excellent proof that as long as you continue to put in extra effort and remain focused, the music industry will have no excuse for refusing to recognise and value your work.
With a focus on Kizz Daniel’s amazing – but underrated – music career so far, you’ll find that it wasn’t that simple for Flyboi to leave G-World Entertainment and start his own record label – yet it made the talented musician go harder as he dropped some smash hit songs along the years. However, we can say Kizz Daniel started from nothing with his own record label, and now look at him – he is one of the biggest artists in Nigeria and he has always been consistent.
Despite all of these genuine factual points about the prime of Kizz Daniel’s journey as an Afrobeats artiste, it apparently seems like the talented lad is getting enough accolades and recognition that his discography is showing. This has prompted us to highlight some of Kizz Daniel’s songs hit-run that mark major peak points of the Nigerian top-tier musician’s collection.
Kizz Daniel Song That Set Him As a Star
In 2014, Kizz Daniel’s debut song “Woju” helped him gain popularity as his first single was accepted by the Nigerian music scene with lots of adoration. After a highly publicized contract disagreement and court case, he terminated his record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013. This led the Afrobeats Act to change his name in May 2018, as he switched his name from Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel. Kizz Daniel proceeded to make a big move in November 2017 as the brilliant musician established the Fly Boy Inc record label.
Kizz Daniel’s Consistent Run of Hits
2018 was surely a good year for the WOJU crooner, Kizz Daniel. The talented Nigerian musician featured Wizkid on his hit song “FOR YOU” and then went on to acquire the special services of Nigerian superstar, Davido, on another smash hit single “One Ticket” which hit the charts within 24hrs of its release – definitely these songs are at the top of Kizz Daniel hit songs.
On the 30th of December 2018, Kizz Daniel went on to release his 2nd Studio album and his first under FlyBoy Inc titled “No Bad Songz”. Notably, there were 20 songs on the “No Bad Songz” album – including the already-released hit track – One Ticket – on which Davido was featured. Nasty C, Diamond Platiumz, Philkeyz, Demmie Vee, Dj Xclusive, Wretch 32, Diplo, and Sarkodie were also featured on the album.
“No Bad Songz” did excellently well as the album garnered favourable and positive reviews from music fans. The album also debuted at No. 55 on the US iTunes Chart, and this happened within 24 hours of its release, the album, “No Bad Songz”, reached No. 1 on the global Album Chart. Kizz Daniel was really on a consistent run of viral hits as he went on to also come through with his third studio album, “King of Love“, on June 25, 2020.
Kizz Daniel’s Biggest Songs
Kizz Daniel is known to frequently boast that he only drops nothing but good hit songs. This arrogant assertion was clearly disapproved and condemned as a little premature for his standards.
But looking back, Kizz Daniel’s songs collection is currently showing the claim might have been understated. Remarkably, the top Nigerian act opened 2022 with the scorching embers from his late 2021 release, Barnabas EP, as he captivated the audience with his dance-crazed viral tune, “Buga”, and wrapped he also came through with another hot song, “Cough”.
“Buga” might as well be one of Kizz Daniel’s biggest songs in recent times. Since the song’s debut, Buga smashed numerous world charts. The less than four-minute song also trended and made the song more popular as a result of numerous dance contests on Tiktok.
Buga video was released by the Afropop singer, Kizz Daniel, as the song amassed over 17 million YouTube views at the time. You would note that the song’s vibrant music video was made in a carnival-like environment while showing the flags of other nations. Tekno, who sang a verse in the song, also appeared in the Boy Director, T.G. Omori, helmed a music video. Exceptionally, Buga – like most of Kizz Daniel’s songs – dominated the charts of numerous online music streaming services since its release.
The song, “Buga” was the most Shazamed music in the world and held the top spot on the Apple Music Charts in more than 10 different nations. Note that Shazam is an online application that uses your mobile device’s microphone and a brief sample to identify songs, videos, commercials, and television shows.
Kizz Daniel’s Songs First To Reach 300 Million Total Streams on BoomPlay
In 2022, Kizz Daniel was already enjoying a successful year with a world tour in full swing and undoubtedly there were enough Kizz Daniel songs rocking the major cities in the world. Remarkably, the Nigerian superstar achieved yet another artistic milestone by being the first artist to reach 300 million cumulative Boomplay streams, making him the most streamed artist on the digital platform as at 2022.
Notably, some of Kizz Daniel‘s songs are still leading the way in those streams, including the Barnabas EP with 133.5 million streams,King of Love with 39 million streams, No Bad Songs with 22.1 million streams, amongst other major hits.
Another Kizz Daniel song worth nothing in the digital era is “Buga featuring Tekno” which has gained widespread acclaim and been mainly dubbed a masterstroke, with this song, the Afropop artist cemented global mainstream recognition. Note that within 24 hours of its release on Boomplay, Buga reportedly recorded 1 million streams, and this hit song has since held the #1 rank in nations like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Togo, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Benin, and Sierra Leone.
Kizz Daniel‘s 300 million streaming feat adds to Boomplay‘s recent milestone announcements and illustrates the music industry’s phenomenal expansion in terms of music consumption and streaming culture. We really love to see Kizz Daniel receive his flowers as he keeps dropping some of the best hit songs in the country.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Adeyinka Fusika, who is also the counsel for the embattled Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has disclosed why the singer is still incarcerated.
Fusika said Kuti is still remanded because of lack of “administrative approval” for the singer’s bail.
Fusika, in a chat with punch on Tuesday, said Seun’s bail had nothing to do with the court sitting today (Tuesday).
Seun, who was arraigned by the police last week for assaulting a policeman, was remanded in police custody by a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, presided over by Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun.
During the sitting on May 16, he was granted bail by the court but was to remain in police custody for 48 hours to allow police to complete their investigation.
On Thursday, May 18, after the 48-hour period had passed, the police sought to keep the singer in custody for an additional four days in order to continue their investigation.
On getting to court today, it was gathered that the judge had gone for training.
According to his lawyer, the purpose of today’s sitting was to receive the Lagos Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.
“The court, as you will recall, had ordered that the prosecution of the case must be by the DPP’s office and not by the police, hence, the police were also ordered to send the case file to the DPP for evaluation and decision as to prosecution.
“The court was, therefore, to sit today to receive the DPP’s advice, but did not because, as we’re informed, the magistrate is attending a training course,” Fusika noted.
He, however, claimed that the advice of the DPP was not ready as the police investigation team was still holding on to the case file.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, however, maintained that the matter was in court and he could not say much about it.
“The matter is in court already, and for that reason, we cannot talk about it,” he told The PUNCH.
According to him, an update concerning the matter will be from the head of the police legal team.
Fusika was optimistic on Tuesday about his client’s release, as he maintained that the bail had been granted already and was only awaiting “administrative approval.”
“The release of Mr Kuti on bail, as ordered by the magistrate, is only waiting for administrative approval. That process has nothing to do with whether or not the court has a physical sitting. We are hopeful that Mr. Kuti will be out today on the bail granted him, having fulfilled the terms,” he stated.
When asked what this administrative approval was all about, he said the bail warrant needed to be signed by the magistrates or any authorised person by the court
