Before the official release of his 12th studio album – UY Scuti, Olamide drops another impressive single – ‘PonPon‘ with guest act, Fave. The song is a follow up to his still buzzing ROCK song and Olamide Baddo out did it once again. He delivered an easy to sing-along, sweet rhyme.

Olamide Adedeji is a popular Nigerian singer-songwriter and indigenous hip-hop rapper. He is popularly called ‘Olamide Baddo’ or ‘Baddo Sneh’. He founded the YBNL Nation, an independent record label that brought talents; Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Viktoh, Lyta, DJ Enimoney and Fireboy. Olamide raps and sings both in his native language, Yoruba, and the general language English. He has earned lots of Awards to his name and released more than 20 hit songs with 9 studio albums; ‘Rhapsodi’, ‘YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop)’, ‘Street OT’, ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’, ‘2Kings’, ‘Eyan MayWeather’, ‘The Glory’ to name a few. In 2020 he dropped his 10th studio album – Carpie Diem on the 8th of October, a project filled with Vibes, melody and massive hit tracks.

At the start of 2020, Fave released her sophomore single “Dal” a reggae-inspired track on which she sings about love and loss. ‘Everytime I say I wanna switch gears/my stupid heart will press decline’ she muses, singing about all the red flags she ignored because of her love for someone else. It’s always refreshing to come across artists who know outwardly present everything you are feeling on the inside, but can’t articulate yourself.

The EP was created to be a feel-good body of work for the fans. According to KDDO, it was at the height of the pandemic, having to be locked down and with movement grounded for several weeks long that he realized the need to cherish every moment we’ve got and create good memories every chance we get.

“This is one of the main reasons I put this album together. I want people to be able to create great memories with their friends and families with my music,” says KDDO.

“I want my music to be the soundtrack of people’s lives. To remind them of a time in their lives that they never wanna forget. I just want people to have fun and enjoy themselves while they can.”

He got signed to Olamide’s YBNL label, and issued two Simi-mixed charting follow-ups in “Orente” and “Pick Up” before releasing Gold Album.

Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike (born 9 October 1986), widely known as Phyno, is a renowned Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer, who started his musical career as a producer in 2003 in Enugu State Nigeria. His debut studio album, No Guts No Glory, was released in 2014. He followed up 2years later with a sophomore album titled “The PlayMaker“, which got him immense recognition across Africa and internationally.

In 2019, Phyno dropped his 3rd studio album titled “Deal With It” on the 4th of September Under his label Penthauze. The album has notable collaborations from the usual suspect Olamide to Davido to Falz and Don Jazzy. A perfect blend of his traditional Hip-Hop background and his new sounds to cater to his vast growing fan base.

Olamide’s “Woske” was released on the 8^th of February, 2019 and garnered mixed reactions from music fans. The song which many people believed was an act of desperation from Olamide in other to score a hit song wasn’t really met with reactions that preached enthusiasm.

Although it didn’t deter it from getting a lot of streams as well as radio airplay, it quickly washed off in the faces and hearts of people like it never was released in the first place. However, there was a group that believed it was going to be a really huge jam as time wore on, but it quickly proved a heavily inaccurate proposition as almost everyone aside from unapologetically loyal Olamide fans.

The fact that Olamide believed the word Woske would metamorphose into pop culture was dealt a huge blow as it was not in any way welcomed the way he had hoped. When Woske was released, it was immediately followed up with a video which has done really bad considering that some videos that were released during the time of its own release have reached 10 million YouTube views while it only has just over 2.8 million views.

This time Alade serves a delightful afro-pop and dancehall fest, as she sings about an intoxicating love comparing it to the West African alcoholic drink extracted locally from palm trees called “Ogogoro”, which happens to be the title of the potent number.
