Coca-Cola is set to launch the second season of it’s one of a kind music show “Coke Studio Africa”. This year’s show was recorded before a live audience and promises to deliver even more unique and exciting musical fusions by popular artistes from across Africa. Each episode will feature live musical performances as well as a variety of segments including behind the music,artiste competitions and special remixes.

The artiste lineup for Season Two include Flavour Nabania, Omawumi, Waje, Burna Boy, Chidinma, Olamide, Iyanya, Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade and Phyno from Nigeria; Fena Gitu, Rabbit,Victoria Kimani and Jay A from Kenya; Navio, Jackie Chandiru and Lillian Mbabazi from Uganda; Joh Makini, Shaa, Diamond and Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania as well as Mozambique’s very own Neyma, Jose Valdemiro and Marllen.

The album has climbed to the No1 spot on the charts thereby displacing 2face Idibia’s ‘The Ascension’ which had been topping the charts since its release. ‘The Industry’ which fields 26 tracks, features over 50 artistes on projects including heavyweights D’banj, 2face Idibia, Banky W and, M.I, Ice Prince. Others include Vector, Olamide, Waje, Skales, Zaina, Phyno and more. Meanwhile TV personality/model Uti Nwachukwu has expressed his opinion that Jatt deserves a national award.

IBILE rapper Remilekun Safaru popularly known as Reminisce has joined the likes of BankyW, Kate Henshaw and Ali Nuhu as a Samsung brand ambassador. Announced on Tuesday 19th of August, this is coming few weeks after US based Time Magazine recognized him as a world rappers to meet. The rapper broke the news to us via his Instagram account where he posted a picture of the unveiling with the caption….“New Family!! #SamsungAmbassador! #ALAGAIBILE”. Way to go man!

Reports have it that 2face Idibia is taking his latest album on a club tour. The 960 Music Group and Hypertek Digital boss said that the club tour is a way to pay homage to the huge success of his sixth studio album, titled The Ascension. Starting on Thursday at Club Rumors in Festac, Lagos, 2face Idibia would be joined on the tour by label mates Dammy Krane, Rock Steady and Kennis Music Act, Jo-El who would be launching his new song “Hold On” ft. 2face.

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem who appeared recently on Channels TV’s Sunrise, has said that his new album, G2G, is in support of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration which he believes has done well. According to him, the President has done a lot of good work from the construction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway to airport and agriculture. He also believes the insecurity issue the country is facing is all propaganda.

We are in for another Tiwa Savage collaboration it seems! The Wanted crooner has revealed on her Instagram page that she’s done a collaboration with Solidstar who apparently gives her “goosebumps”.

Remember their “Always on Time” hit track? American superstars Ja Rule ans Ashanti have been reportedly billed to perform in Nigeria in a couple of weeks. The rapper and singer will be performing at the Warri Again: The Flagship Show set to hold on October 1 in Warri, Delta state.

Asides these two, other acts billed to perform include Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Davido, Yemi Alade, Flavour, Oritse Femi, Patoranking, Wizkid, Iyanya, Dr. Sid, Harry Song, Daddy Showkey and a host of comedians.

Michael Idibia, father to afro R&B legend 2face Idibia has passed on. His dad had been reportedly ill of the cancer disease a while now and finally lost the life battle to cold fate. His manager Efe Omoregie, confirmed the news Saturday evening adding that 2face who had been in Abuja all week is still grief stricken by the news.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to music superstar and his family. We pray God Almighty grants them the fortitude to bear the loss in such a time as this.

Vector: A Rapper’s New Dawn?

My excitement knew it’s bounds that morning when I woke up to realize that born certified rapper, Vector had released another track. This came after his year long hiatus off the music industry by reason of the messy spat he had with his record management company which soon became public knowledge.

Vector was dissatisfied with the lackadaisical manner in which his then management company handled affairs that pertained to his career. So he went on and ahead to doing the most appropriate thing. He was vocal about it. He spoke out and expressed his sincere thoughts on what appeared like a long overlooked anomaly. But as expected (or perhaps not), not a damn thang changed. Vector sought out alternate means to keep thriving his already budding career. The management company saw it as a threatening response and then did the most disdainful thing to their supposed own. They got him arrested, thrown behind detention bars and with the cost of regaining his freedom being that he post bail.

As if that wasn’t enough, the dwindling menace took a rather sour legal turn. Jankara style, V.E.C was served a court injunction “restraining him from further activities (recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organization other than his management company.”

In their minds, this was the right way of making him pay dearly for the breach of contract extension stunt he pulled on them. After a series of seemingly endless back and forths, dear Vector surrendered to the fate of letting sleeping dogs lie. But he wasn’t gon’ give up easy. Call it pity or whatever you may choose but by a stroke of hope, Vector held down solid features with other industry acts and never shelved an opportunity to deal a knock-out dose of his rap being. He was angry and so those lines came out hard, straight from his die hard spirit and from deep down his heart. He even had one or two lone releases that weren’t backed by any promotion whatsoever.

Time was passing fast (or in this case, rather slowly). A beautiful career was plummeting to painful waste. Fans had been deprived of hearing the musings of their rap superstar music mind. Still, nobody was backing down. Vector was on a really high horse and refused to get down from it, the management company were steady chilling at a 33,000-feet cruise and were not considering descending any time soon. While fans watched and prayed, Heaven finally answered by means of a (long-anticipated) tête-à-tête where both parties reached an amicable consensus. To that effect, Vector tendered a touching public apology to his former management company and even further pointed out exaggerations being blown out of proportion by the media as major reason. Vector was on the brink of another dawn.

You know, the good thing about V.E.C’s coffee break is that he’s had time to assess situational changes and seek appropriate redress. Without haste, he announced #A7 – The Mixtape accompanied by it’s tracklisting. Following closely would be Where is Vector (W.i.V?) – the first single off the mixtape that not only re-introduced but also relived his status as one of Nigeria’s finest titans in the rap field. He basically used the track to set records straight, change doubts and correct perceived notions on the career drawback he just reeled out from. What a comeback it was! To be blessed again by a fine rapper’s suave nature and finesse delivery. I’ll close by quoting a fan’s comment. He said… “at least the competition can become stiff again. Oshamo!”

PREMIERE: Teeblaq – Robo [Remix] ft Dammy Krane & Olamide | Robo Style [Gangnam Style Cover]

Rap icon Olaitan Olaonipekun a.k.a Dagrin passed on 2 years ago on the 22nd of April. One of the few things he left to be remembered for is his record label Missofunyin Entertainment.

Two years after, Missofunyin Entertainment presents her first artiste since Dagrin’s demise and he’s none other than Dagrin’s cousin Oluwatosin Arewa a.k.a Tee Blaq.

Tee Blaq grew up practicing music early in life with his late cousin Dagrin who he said has a lot of influence on him. He says his passion for the street drives him to aim higher.

The Afro hip hop rapper grew up in a little known suburb area in the heart of Lagos.  Arewa Oluwatosin  aka TeeBlaq featured DaGrin on the song “oti yapa” which was heading to the top of the music chart before the tragic loss of the afro hip hop legend Dagrin. His legacy lives on as Teeblaq still represents the record label Missofunyin entertainment but currently signed to Eldar records owned by Olokodana Taofeek Oriyomi. Tee blaq was also one of the casts in the biopic movie of his late cousin Dagrin titled “Ghetto dreams”.

Teeblaq released his first hit single titled ROBO under Eldar records entertainment. Now he is at it again with the new hit banger “”ROBO remix featuring Dammy Krane and Olamide signed and recorded under Eldar records entertainment.

The shock being experienced by netizens is how she moved from that to kissing with Lukay in just the first week of the show. The duo was caught in bed kissing and even speaking about seduction. It will be recalled that Daniella was caught in the same robe while on BBNaija.
