Ubi Franklin, in a new IG post, has recounted how he almost took his own life out of depression.

The Triple MG boss, who was formerly married to actress, Lilian Esoro, revealed that despite his fame and success, he was still depressed and almost committed suicide if not for the thought of whom will take care of his son when he dies.

“I was quite depressed and it became so bad that my life began to deteriorate so much that I literally couldn’t eat nor sleep and other members of my family and my close friends became really scared.”

M.I Vs Kelly Hansome

Kelly Hansome, during his time as an ”artiste” did one thing and one thing well, snag a spot on Nigerians top 3 most controversial artistes, a title he represented so well until he got to the end of the road. Mr Hansome, cared less whose ox was gored during this period with mind bulging act which had thousands wondering if his years of experience and age as at then, were all for jokes.

From feuding with his ex-boss Kenny Ogungbe , to taking verbal shots in his IGWE track at producer Don Jazzy, D’banj,Wande Coal (Mo’Hit’s) Terry G, and then emerging act M.I, Kelly really outdid himself, and then, M.I paid him back in his coin and yes, it was epic. Releasing BEEF, a record packed full of hurtful, career ending bars, M/.I lurched forward at Hansome, with this weapon, calling him out on his bullsh*t, schooling him and then draining him of whatever career fighting spirit left in his being.

Saucekid Vs Godwon

This conflict started brewing with the release of Nigeria’s top 10 rap artistes list by a popular music blog, which saw admittedly brillaint rapper, Godwon and a few notable names missing. Not one to be publicly insulted like that, Godwon all riled up, took to social media to vent where he went all out, cussing and puffing all so he could be heard, in the end, making himself a mortal enemy. In his bid to show just how hurt he felt about some rappers being unjustly omitted and a few who made the list but didn’t deserve to, he went on a rant, making an enemy of Saucekid in the process.

This tweet of course did not go down well with Sinzu, who replied promoting the beginning of an almost tiring diss track traded between them.

Reminisce Vs Vector

The rap game is never complete without a diss track and this is exactly the case between these two great rap acts who tore each other to pieces via their diss tracks. Nigerians were treated to an epic/enjoyable not so enjoyable rap war between these two lords when Vector, made the first move by coming for Reminisce who was definitely in no mood to be disrespected by anyone, talk more Vector. The feud started when Vector decided on taking a jab at Reminisce via his verse on Saucekid’s song Kitchen Street, a jab, Reminisce took to heart, replying in no time with his diss tracks ATA . Peace seemed to reign for a while as Vector declined any attempt at commenting on the situation except for his subliminal insults to Reminisce via twitter. But of course peace was far from the case as Vector went on a vengeful ride in Distractions by A-Q, shredding Reminisce to pieces with his bars and punchline.

Don Jazzy Vs Olamide

The year 2016, started on a epic note with these feud which saw these two highly celebrated industry in a war of word while at Headies Award show. The issue started when Mavin’s Reekado Banks won the award for the Next Rated Artiste Category at the 2015 Headies Awards, an honour which obviously did not sit well with Olamide, who thought his artiste, Lil Kesh, would. His pain was made known when he took to the stage with his entire YBNL crew, to say a few words of appreciation after his artiste Adekunle Gold was announced the winner of Best Alternative act for his song, Shade.

His words after successfully taking the shine off of the Adekunle Gold:

“Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that sh*t! The streets ti take over. Every f**king single was a hit back to back. From lyrically, to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody. ”

Don Jazzy, of course had his own response all cooked when he took to the stage to receive The Special Recognition Award. His response:

“I came out here to support my children. As they were trying to present the award, Reekado Banks was performing at Ali Baba’s show. I have already told my children that I will buy cars for all of them.

“Egbon Olamide, if you want the car, come and collect it”, Don Jazzy added. (The 2015 Headies Next Rated Artiste Award winner goes home with a Hyundai SUV car).

This of course did not end there as series of angry tweets and threats flew from Olamide’s camp to Don Jazzy, with the rapper stating categorically it be best if the music producer never steps his foot on the mainland.

“ I did not mention father’s name on the stage. Don’t f**king mention my name f**k boy. Don’t try all this sh*t with me”

“You crave attention so bad, cool with everyone on your team but na you be Don f**k everything up, ruin every relationship”, (obviously referring to how Don Jazzy and Dbanj parted ways.)

“U dey chance your boys, Dem dey call you baba, my niggas call me my brother”

“After you don ruin D’banj with packaging, na de same u come dey form humble on social media. I called to strike a deal with Di’ja.”

Emperor Geezy Finally Opens Up On Why G-Worldwide Artistes Do Not Do Collaborations

Emperor Geezy, G-Worldwide CEO, in a lengthy statement has opened up on why all the artistes on his label steer clear of features and collaborations.

His statement reads thus:

I have listened to, read and watched various on-air personalities, entertainment journalists and the odd industry professional voice their concerns on the “refusal” of G-WORLDWIDEto allow artistes on its roster collaborate with, or feature other artistes outside the fold on their music. This has been whispered, said to my face and “authoritatively revealed” many times that I feel it is important that I address the issue once and for all.

First, I must say that it is laudable of our fans and critics to voice their opinions where they feel we have an advantage to explore but are not leveraging. For this, I must say a heartfelt thanks to you.

Now to the matter at end; it is a moot point to say that the Nigerian Music Industry has grown to a point where our artists are gaining international acceptance and recognition. So far, a lot of hard work has gone into this process, and I personally believe that with more effort, Nigerian music is poised to become a major music “product” globally.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Fela, Oliver de Coque, Osita Osadebe, King Sunny Ade and so many others, and when I look at how music was created and marketed then, I see that these men, beyond being such amazing creatives, put a lot of effort into creating unique identities that created a certain mystique about them; helping to drive increased followership.

Today what it requires to break an artiste into the market and possibly achieve limelight is huge, and as modern realities have come to show us: money rules the day. This of course means that there is a growing need for any serious player in the music industry to look for innovative ways to sell their art. My own experience has shown that money alone cannot suffice; rather what is required is a mix of talent, hard work, considerable resources and most importantly the ability to think and execute radical strategies to retain a hold in the market. It is on this principle that I have built G-Worldwide, and it is on this that we as an entertainment company stand.

We will take no credit for what the music industry has become today, our only focus is on working hard to reward the trust and support our loyal fans have bestowed on us. On giving out value. We believe as a company that our Artists can work hard enough to put themselves in the spotlight without having to leverage on features and collaborations. We understand that this is a risky move but remain convinced that if this can be achieved, we will be able to take credit for having set the pace in the Nigerian music industry. Granted that collaborations in the industry bring colour and variety to the end product, but our approach at this time is to grow stronger and richer in value as a unit.

As an entrepreneur I know the risks involved in investing in the music business and will do all I can to minimize these risks. For those who assume that our structure is not good enough, I would humbly suggest that you invest in the career of one of the countless young talents out there and anchor your business on principles you believe in as we have done and let time and fate decide whose approach will stand the test of time. As for us, we intend to concentrate our energy on creating and releasing great music such as “SOFA” by Kiss Daniel and the “Believe” album recently released by Sugarboy for our fans the world over. The features and collaborations are wonderful opportunities which will come at the right time.

Jonathan Anaeto Chukwudebe aka “Brainjo” formerly known as Black J, is an afro pop, high life and reggae/dance hall artiste. He was born and raised in Shendam near Jos, Plateau State 28 years ago. The Ihiala, Anambra State native lost his parents 23 years ago at a very young age. As an ambitious lad, on December 2003, Brainjo moved to Lagos State rummaging the streets in pursuit of a greener pasture.

He recorded his first music single African Beauty in 2005 with the late OJB Jezreel of blessed memories. In 2009 he tried again by recording three singles, Pitty Drivers, Party With Me and Mummy Why produced by J-Martins.

Brainjo appeared on major newspapers and magazines with interviews and reviews as (Black J) in 2007/2009 respectively. In 2011, he recorded a song Want To Do, which was produced by Meca E. To crown it all, Brainjo tagged the year 2017 as one for Breaking Barriers. Brainjo never gave up on his dreams, he makes a comeback with a new music single titled “Farabale” which was produced by DTunes.

Reekado Banks, may be the latest celebrity causing havoc on and hopefully not off social media.

The MAVIN act, took to IG to share snippet of his latest project, (a melodious tune by the way) and instead of igniting the fire of thirsty showers of praises, the snippet instead caused some hot words to be exchanged between his fans and non-fans alike.

Bone of contention: Reekado, in the video, could be steering the wheel of his car with one hand while the other held up a red cup, a cup which he graciously mentioned did not hold within it any alcoholic content but of course many chose not to read his caption and instead slammed the singer.
