Gone are the days when we depended on foreign music for good vibes. It’s such a relief that the Nigerian music industry has grown and evolved. Remember the late 90’s and early 2000’s when we depended on 2Pac, B.I.G, Nas for good rap songs?
Now the game has changed.
Our indigenous rappers have pretty much redefined our taste in hip-hop and rap music especially. Special credit goes to the vibrant youth folk for giving us a fine bred of ‘New Skool’ rappers tailored after the revered likes of industry veterans; Ruggedman, Junior & Pretty, Modenine, Nigga Raw, Lord of Ajasa, Eldee, Sasha and hotshot slingers M.I, Jesse Jagz, Vector, Dagrin, Olamide, CDQ, Ycee.
So today’s question is directed at lovers of rap music who participated in it’s revolution into the Nigerian scene.
If you had the option of picking out of M.I, Dagrin or Modenine, who would you say made you fall in love with Nigerian rap music?
Feel free to comment any preferred choice of yours (whether they’re featured on the trio list or not).
