“Burna Boy is arrogant & hasn’t done anything great” – Patrick Doyle Fumes

Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has trashed the achievement of Nigerian Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy, in the music industry.

Tooxclusive recalls that Burna Boy, in a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, asserted that most Nigerian artists make music “without substance”.

Reacting on his Facebook page, Patrick Doyle emphasized that the credit for the achievements that seem to be boosting the popularity of Burna Boy must be correctly attributed to the trailblazers who cleared the challenging paths, enabling artists like him to navigate with apparent ease.

In his view, Burna Boy has not individually accomplished anything that could be deemed truly exceptional. Patrick said he and his contemporaries benefit from the hard work of the pioneering figures who came before them.

The actor stressed the importance of humility and respect towards the diligent and innovative forerunners. Patrick further mentioned esteemed artists such as Sunny Ade, Fela Anikulapo, Majek Fashek, I.K. Dairo, and a multitude of others who laid the foundation from the 1960s to the 2000s. He highlighted that greatness and remarkable achievements are not isolated occurrences.

Patrick encouraged his followers to avoid contributing to the formation of an arrogant and disagreeable persona.

He wrote, “The credit for the feats that appear to be puffing the likes of Burna Boy up have to be properly ascribed to the greats who cleared the thorny paths that have created pathways for his likes to walk through practically effortlessly.

“Burna Boy has not by himself done anything that can be remotely described as great. He and his peers are recipients of the labours of heroes past.

“They need to be humble and respectful of their diligent and truly pioneering predecessors. Great artistes like SunnyAde, Fela Anikulapo, Majek Fashek , I, k. Dairo and a galaxy of others who paved the way from the 60s, to the 2000s. Greatness and great feats don’t exist in a vacuum. Let us not contribute to the creation of an arrogant and obnoxious monster.”

The Ultimate Concert Experience: Why Sports Stadiums are the New Arenas for Music Legends

In the realm of entertainment, the boundaries separating sports and music are becoming increasingly indistinct. What were once arenas solely dedicated to sporting events are now emerging as favoured locations for hosting musical concerts. From Madison Square Garden in New York to Wembley in the UK, these iconic venues are hosting as many gigs as they do sporting events. If you prefer the latter, consider spicing up your experience by placing a bet in the safe environment of the 1xbet app, which has a review at the link. But what makes the sports stadiums the most popular venues for music concerts? Let’s dive into the melody of this trend.

The Grand Stage: Sports Stadiums as Musical Arenas

Madison Square Garden: The Unrivaled Legend

Securing the premier position among U.S. concert locations, Madison Square Garden stands as an unparalleled icon. Accommodating more than 20,000 spectators, this famed venue has been the stage for numerous memorable performances, establishing itself as a magnet for global music enthusiasts. The sheer magnitude, cutting-edge technology, and electric atmosphere make it the ultimate destination for artists and fans alike.

Wembley Stadium: A New Home for Music

In the year 2023, Wembley, recognized as the most expansive stadium in the UK, served as the venue for an equal number of musical gigs and football games. With a total of 16 concerts that sold out in 2022, featuring renowned artists such as Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, and a staggering 1.3 million tickets sold, Wembley has emerged as a representation of the escalating appetite for concerts held in stadium settings. The scale and capacity to hold 60,000 people have attracted artists like Beyoncé and Pink, making it a prime choice for big tours in the UK.

The Staples Center: A Symbol of Grandeur

Serving as the base for several professional sports franchises, The Staples Center in Los Angeles is renowned for its unmatched production excellence and vibrant ambiance. With the ability to accommodate more than 20,000 spectators, this versatile venue enhances the vigor of every live show, drawing elite performers and music lovers from all corners of the world.

The Allure of Stadium Concerts: Why Artists Choose the Big Field

Bigger Venues, Bigger Profits

The cost of putting on worldwide tours is enormous. Artists need to sell out bigger venues to make it pay. Stadiums like the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, with a capacity of 60,000, offer the scale that artists need. The space, city-center location, and ability to host large numbers of trucks for staging and production make stadiums attractive to concert promoters.

Freedom and Flexibility

Stadiums allow more freedom for artists’ production teams. The positioning of sound systems can be tailored to each venue’s particular acoustics. The unique open-air design of venues like The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington, with a capacity of 20,000, allows concertgoers to revel in nature while enjoying performances, creating a unique and immersive experience.

The Nostalgia Factor: Fenway Park

Imagine rocking out to your favorite band in the same venue that has seen countless iconic baseball moments. Fenway Park in Boston offers a one-of-a-kind concert experience, combining the excitement of live music with the nostalgia of America’s favorite pastime.

Challenges and Risks: The Big Gamble of Stadium Concerts

The Pressure of Scale

With bigger tours comes bigger risks. Wembley’s stadium director, Liam Boylan, notes that everything’s bigger in stadium concerts: more trucks, more crew, more equipment. It’s a big gamble for promoters, who must weigh whether the interest in a particular artist is high enough to fill the seats. If a show doesn’t sell, they’re liable, adding a layer of pressure to the grandeur of stadium concerts.

Timing and Coordination

Stadium tours present a unique challenge of fitting concerts into the calendar without interfering with the venues’ main business: sport. Clashes with major sporting events, like the FA Cup at Wembley, create a complex jigsaw puzzle for managers and agents. The solution? Increasing the number of concerts that can take place per year, accommodating more touring artists.

Impact on Local Economies: A Boost in Trade

Pricing Concerns

While stadium concerts provide a massive boost in trade around cities like Sunderland, there are genuine concerns about promoter pricing. With general admission ticket prices often over £100, compared to match-day tickets at £29, promoters must be mindful of the local economy and disposable income.

Energy Costs and Consumer Impact

Increased energy costs have affected venues like Wembley Stadium, leading to a rise in the price of renting the venue. While venue operators must cover costs, they also strive to avoid outpricing fans, maintaining a balance between economic realities and audience accessibility.

Future Trends: The Unstoppable Rise of Stadium Concerts

The Demand Continues

Stadium tours show no signs of stopping. The demand for bands like Arctic Monkeys is huge, with 500,000 tickets sold in England and Wales alone for their summer stadium tour in 2023. The trend of choosing stadiums over arenas continues to grow, with artists seeking the best possible experience for fans in each venue.

A New Era of Entertainment

From Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado to Barclay’s Center in New York, the United States is home to some of the most iconic and spectacular concert venues. The trend is global, with stadiums becoming the number one choice for big tours in the UK and beyond. The blend of historic significance, modern marvels in design, and the sheer scale of venues is defining a new era of entertainment.

Conclusion: The Symphony Continues

The most popular sports stadiums for music concerts are not just venues; they are experiences. These venues present a harmonious mixture of reminiscence, magnificence, and creativity that strikes a chord with performers and audiences alike. As the spheres of sports and music further merge, the melodious composition of stadium concerts will persist, etching indelible impressions and laying the groundwork for the forthcoming evolution of live musical performances.

“I was prepared to die” – Tems Speaks about Her Early Beginnings

In a recent candid conversation with renowned American rapper Kendrick Lamar, the talented singer and Grammy award-winner, Tems, opened up about her bold decision to veer away from the Afrobeats genre and embrace R&B.

The female artiste, revealed that she was willing to face serious consequences to pursue her passion for R&B music, even if it meant risking her career’s trajectory.

Tems spoke passionately about her journey, asserting,

I was prepared to die. I believed in myself so much that I didn’t really care if I never became anything or anyone. I just wanted to get a message out. I wanted to get my frequency out.”

The artist emphasized that her ultimate goal with R&B was to convey a message through her music, transcending commercial success and accolades.

The discussion, featured in the latest volume of Interview Magazine. She shared her longing for a musical experience that would evoke intense emotions and a spiritual connection, reminiscent of artists like Celine Dion.

Tems confessed that the Afrobeats genre, while vibrant and beloved, didn’t quite offer the depth of emotional stimulation she sought in her work.

In her words;

“I was prepared to die. I believed in myself so much that I didn’t really care if I never became anything or anyone. I just wanted to get a message out. I wanted to get my frequency out. And I was like, ‘Even if ten people hear this, it’s fine.’ But also along the way, I used to listen to a lot of Nigerian music and I wasn’t getting a lot of spiritual—I love Celine Dion, so, I love that intense feeling of, I’m about to jump off a cliff. That’s how I want my music to feel all the time, and Afrobeats wasn’t necessarily giving me that type of stimulation.”

This technology has made it possible to experience the vibe of the casino floor from the comfort of your own home. You can walk around the casino and interact with players and dealers without having to leave your home. It has become clear that VR technology is here to stay.

Blockchains are paving the way for tomorrow

When blockchains and cryptocurrencies had their big breakthrough, they had already been around for quiet some time. This is the primary reasons as to why so many thought the crypto world would be a passing trend. During the last few years, it has become clear that crypto and blockchain technology are changing the way we structure financial systems and many other areas, including gaming and iGaming. Crypto casinos today offer heightened security, a larger degree of anonymity, as well as new payment options for players.

AI

AI is without a doubt, the technology that’s being discussed mostly at this time and age. It’s revolutionising the world as we know it. In the iGaming world and the rest of the gaming world, this technology can offer enhanced and personalised user experiences, amongst other things. It’s able to track the habits and preferences of each specific player. This will allow the online casino to offer personalised offers and recommendations for each player. What AI will be able to give the iGaming world in the future, we can only imagine at this point.

No artiste has shown support to Solidstar – Brother

Joseph Iniyezo has said that none of his brother, Joshua ”Solidstar” Iniyezo’s colleagues have shown support ever since he revealed that he’s battling mental health challenges.

Tooxclusive reported days ago that Joseph cried out for help on behalf of the musician. In a video shared on the musician’s Instagram page, he said the ‘Omotena’ hit-maker is in desperate need of support.

According to him, the family had tried all they could to find solutions to Solidstar’s medical predicament but it has been to no avail. In the post, Joseph solicited the support of friends, fans and colleagues.

Speaking in an interview with The Punch, Joseph said Solidstar was bothered by his declining career and it pushed him into drugs.

He said; “I have spent all the money I have, and it has gone beyond me. I had his Instagram login details because I used to manage him, but got busy because of my job. I just had to log in to let his friends, fans and fellow celebrities know what was going on. It is better that way before videos of him on the streets go viral.

“His career always bothers him. He is not one to bother people by asking for help. But, he needs to go out there and meet with his colleagues, but he does not like to ‘link up’. I believe when one is down, one ought to cry out, and crying out does not necessarily mean begging. That was one of the things that really triggered him. It is making him depressed and adding smoking to his problems made things worse.

Joseph also revealed that Solidstar has been taken to a rehab centre and he was responding to treatment.

“I know everyone has their problems but none of his colleagues have shown support. However, DJ Neptune called me to find out if it was a scam, and I told him it was not. He said he would call me back, but I have not heard from him since then. The only one of his colleagues who has shown support is the comedian, Isoko boy. It is mainly his fans and loved ones that have genuinely shown care and support,” he said.
